Leadership of Associations

Who is it for? The Leadership of Association training is intended for leaders of associations or those seeking to become leaders in an association. To be an effective leader you must first understand yourself and then understand the role that you are to perform. This training allows for self reflection on these topics and others listed below.

Training Description: The training is to provide association leaders with relevant information and processes that will assist in becoming an effective leader in your association. The two-day training that covers:

• Identification of the traits of a leader and how a leader differs from a manager
• Six principles of leadership
• Determining your personal leadership style
• Identifying the roles within the association: Executive Committee and President to the General Secretary
• Successful networking
• Trust

Outcomes:

• Identify general leadership attributes and skills
• Identify the role of the President, Vice Presidents, Chairmanship, Secretary and Treasurer
• Come up with ideas/activities for leaders to implement in and through their Associations such as networking and building trust.
  

Course fees include course materials, morning and afternoon tea, and lunch. All course fees are inclusive of GST.
