Leadership and Communication

Duration: 10 days (alternatively each unit can be broken down to two days)

Who is it for? This course is suitable for anyone seeking to improve their understanding and skills in leadership, management and communication to be able to improve their personal performance and that of their organisation.

Course Description: The Leadership and Communication course has been designed equip those interested in becoming more effective leaders and managers with skills in management, leadership, and communication.

This training focus on developing the range of key competencies that will empower managers and leaders to become skilled and confident performers in their workplaces. Specific areas covered are: Leadership, Management, Financial Management, Teamwork and Communication, and Office Administration.

The methodology employed is participant-centred, workplace oriented and underpinned by the principles of adult learning such as dialogue, respect for the learners, teamwork, and activities that encourage the learners to apply new knowledge immediately. In any training program, a significant resource is the participants’ own experience. Christian ethical principles will be incorporated throughout the training through ethical dilemmas presented in role-plays and case studies.

Outcomes: At the end of this workshop, participants will:

• Identify the role of a leader in any organisation;
• Have created a management structure for their particular organisation or department;
• Created a balance sheet and profit and loss statement for a mock company;
• Acted as a part of a team to complete a specific task and analysed the exercise for application;
• Developed a physical and electronic filing system.
  

Assessment: No assessment is required for this training.

Course fees include course materials, morning and afternoon tea, and lunch. All course fees are inclusive of GST.
